Introduction to “The Elephant in the Room” video series!
Do you have questions about elephants like about the law or why ivory is still such an enormous problem? Or have you ever wondered about their behavior, their emotions, or how long they live?
Welcome to “The Elephant in the Room” series where we will tackle everything you ever wanted to know about elephants. I’m Debbie Ethell, the executive director and founder of The KOTA Foundation for Elephants, author of “The Will of Heaven” book series, and a conservation research scientist.
Elephants have fascinated me my entire life. I love absolutely everything about them and if you’re watching this right now, I bet you do too. I started my foundation, wrote my book, and now this YouTube channel to teach everything I can about the magic of elephants so that together we can change the tide.
Elephants in the wild don’t have much time and I will go over all the reasons why that is. But I am also a science geek and I love the anatomy of an elephant such as their feet, their ears, and their trunk. I believe storytelling is the most powerful teaching tool so I will tell some of their stories, as I do in my books, and we will cover issues such as the trade of ivory in the US, the laws, and most importantly the hope.
So sit back, grab a cup of coffee and get ready to learn more about “The Elephant in the Room.”
